* Never leave candles burning unattended
* Keep candles away from children and pets
* Keep candles away from flammable objects (curtains, blankets, walls, etc)
* Avoid burning candles when there is a draft present
* Do Not walk with a burning candle.
* Always place candle in a container (if not already in one) and place on a sturdy, heat resistance, smooth surface.
* Keep wicks trimmed to 1/4 inch at all times. Allow candle to cool before trimming wick and re-lighting.
Container/Jar Candle Tips:
* Do not burn candles in container that are chipped or cracked.
* Do not allow candle to burn to the bottom of the container.
* Stop burning when at least 1/2 inch of the candle is remaining.
* Place all containers on a heat resistance surface to prevent damage from furniture
* Containers may become very hot, handle with care!
Helpful Tips:
* To extinguish a flame, use a candle snuffer. Blowing may only spread the flame and cause hot wax to splatter.
* Burn a minimum of 1 hour per 1 inch of candle diameter. This will prevent the candle from forming a hole down the center of the candle. Example: A 2” candle = burn time of 2 hours.
* Use toe nail clippers or a wick trimmer to trim a wick if the jar is too small for scissors.
* Avoid leaving candles sit in direct sunlight, as they will eventually fade.
Problem Solving:
* If the wick become too short to light, carve away some of the wax to expose the fresh wick, then trim to 1/4 inch and burn.
* Remove wax from holders by putting the cooled container in the freezer or running very hot water in the container.
* To remove harden wax from washable fabrics, scrape off excess wax and pour boiling water over the item.
* If the wick becomes off center, use a butter knife to gently push it back to the center. If there is a draft, rotate the candle.
